Our hospital sites are smoke and vape free

Posted on:

As we welcome the new year, we’d like to remind everyone that all Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust sites are smoke and vape free. This means no smoking or vaping anywhere on our grounds, including car parks and entrances.

Every cigarette and vape affects more than just the person smoking. Keeping our sites smoke and vape-free, helps us create safer, healthier spaces for recovery and care. Please help us to keep it this way.

How you can help
• Please don’t smoke or vape on our hospital sites.
• If you notice someone smoking or vaping, and feel comfortable doing so, approach them politely and gently remind them that our sites are smoke and vape free.
• Our Princess Alexandra Maternity Wing has an automated voice message – you can discreetly press it, and it will ask anyone outside to stop smoking. Simply press the button on the left-hand side on the wall as you enter the main doors to remind people smoking and vaping isn’t permitted.

Want to quit yourself or support someone who does?
We know quitting isn’t easy, but help is available. For resources and support:

Thank you for helping us keep our hospitals smoke and vape free, and protecting the health of our community.
