RCHT celebrates opening of new Outpatient Department at West Cornwall Hospital
RCHT has celebrated the opening of its new £9 million Outpatient Department at West Cornwall Hospital in Penzance.
CEO Steve Williamson led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, alongside colleagues across RCHT and the project team from construction partner, Kier. It follows successful completion of the building earlier this month.
The new outpatient department provides a modern, accessible and patient-focused environment that will enhance acute healthcare services and facilities for the people of West Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The new building has some technically-enhanced features that allows staff to provide face-to-face as well as virtual clinical care, and which is already facilitating the delivery of a comprehensive range of outpatient services.
The new Outpatient Department’s project team also collaborated with Falmouth University. Final year illustration students were invited to submit works of art for one of their end-of-year modules – and all of which are exhibited throughout the new building.
