RCHT team showcases excellence and wins Best Overall Poster at annual forum
Seven members of the Research and Development (R and D) team shared their important work by exhibiting four posters at the national Research and Development Forum (RDF) in Manchester.
The RDF serves as a venue for the research community to connect, share knowledge, and engage in professional development. The forum aims to foster collaboration, improve research environments, and influence policy and practice.
The RCHT posters were:
- Research Sister Keren Menear and Richmond Pharmacology proudly won the Best Overall Poster award with their poster, “Addressing Barriers to Accessing Groundbreaking Health Treatments: A Collaborative Approach in Cornwall.”
- Cristina Thiebaud showcased her poster titled “Creating a Career Development Pathway for Clinical Research Doctors at the Royal Cornwall Hospital.”
- Cristina Thiebaud, Lisa Trembath, and Verity Teague presented their poster “Nurturing NHS Research Talent: Insights into Career Motivation and Retention.”
- Madalina Chifu, attended with her poster “Start by Doing the Necessary, Then What is Possible and Suddenly You Are Doing the Impossible.”
Reflecting on the experience, Research Doctor, Madalina Chifu said:
“Attending the RDF25 Conference in Manchester was a valuable opportunity to present the important work undertaken by our team. The Oncology Research team at the Royal Cornwall Hospital manages a broad and diverse portfolio of clinical trials, providing cancer patients with access to innovative and potentially life-changing treatments. The RDF25 event offered an excellent platform for professional networking and knowledge exchange, while also reinforcing the critical role of medical research in advancing clinical care and improving patient outcomes.”
