People affected by cancer attend Truro wellbeing workshop

Posted on:

An event aimed at anyone affected by a recent cancer diagnosis in Devon and Cornwall was attended by 75 people.

Held at the Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre on the Royal Cornwall Hospitals site, attendees had the opportunity to engage in sessions focused on coping skills, physical activity and relaxation techniques. Information stands offered insights into the support and initiatives available to cancer.

Participants were also encouraged to share their feedback and experiences, contributing to the ongoing improvement of support services.

The event was part of the Macmillan Psychological Support scoping and mapping project, aimed at understanding what support people affected by cancer have accessed and where there are gaps in services. The project team are currently inviting people who have been affected by cancer within the last 3 years to complete a survey about support for their feelings and emotions.

If you would like to find out more about the support available to anyone affected by cancer, please contact The Cove, Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre on 01872 256363 during office hours or email thecove@nhs.net.
