Award nominations for bereavement midwives
Two of our bereavement midwives have been shortlisted for a Mariposa Award, which recognise the exceptional work of frontline NHS and community workers providing bereavement care and support.
Karen Stoyles has been shortlisted for the lifetime achievement award and has dedicated over 47 years to the NHS, Karen retired from Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT) at the end of February. Claire Moors has been nominated for the bereavement midwife award.
Claire said: “Karen and I are both honoured to have been nominated for these prestigious awards. The Mariposa Trust is an internationally recognised charity that campaigns for the provision of better support to families who have gone through the trauma of baby loss in pregnancy, birth, or infancy.
“Karen and I have always considered it a privilege to work with families who trust us to look after them and their babies in difficult and challenging circumstances for them. For me to be nominated by a family for this award is so touching and humbling, and I dedicate my nomination to all the families we work with every day at RCHT.”
