Midwife Support Worker wins national award
Helen Williams, Regional Chief Midwife, Amanda Rosenfeld, award winner, and Sandra Hogan, Community Team Leader

Amanda was nominated by Community Matron, Sam Gale, for standing out as an exemplary staff member.

Amanda, who was described as positive and cheerful, was felt to be instrumental in keeping the team spirit alive and checking on her colleague’s wellbeing during the pandemic. She encouraged all her colleagues to look after their emotional, as well as physical, wellbeing. She was also congratulated for her general ‘can do’ approach to work life. Amanda was described as someone who goes above and beyond to give a high level of care and enhance the patient experience.

Nominator, Sam said “During Covid, face to face baby and feeding groups stopped. Amanda, as always, problem solved and found a way to continue providing feeding support to our families and she did this virtually online. Sometimes in a ‘group’ and sometimes individually. It is a wonderful testament to Amanda’s ability to use all resources to ensure patient care continued. Now, thankfully, we are at the place where we can start to reintroduce our face-to-face baby care sessions once again, and Amanda is already planning how she can be involved in reintroducing this service. As a team, we are lucky to have her.”
