About this service
Our Quit for Life Team provides free, personalised advice and support to help patients stop smoking. If you are a patient and would like support to stop smoking or support with abstinence while in hospital, please ask to be referred to the team.
We are a small but dedicated team based at Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, supporting patients on their journey to smoke-free life. When patients are referred by their inpatient team, we offer practical advice and can offer treatment, such as Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) to help manage withdrawal symptoms, with a listening ear to help make those first days without smoking more comfortable.
For longer support after discharge, we can refer you directly to Healthy Cornwall’s Stop Smoking Service, who will provide support during your quit journey and arrange NRT through your GP practice.
Quitting isn’t always easy, but it’s never too late to start. Every day without smoking can improve your health, wellbeing and recovery.
